Relic Hunting

Search for a piece of history with your Bounty Hunter metal detector. Historical relics are waiting to be uncovered all over the world- even in your own backyard. These finds could be interesting and extremely valuable.

If you do a little digging, you can find some great spots to hunt- starting with your community. Or you can take your Bounty Hunter on vacation and find amazing relics that are hundreds of years old.

Many Bounty Hunter relic hunters travel the Southeastern United States looking for Civil War relics. If you plan on vacationing in that area, be sure to research before you head out. Search libraries and Internet for information on location sites that are not off limits. Look for military records, maps of sites, old photos, and soldier diaries. There are many places to hunt, but not in National Parks, and remember to get permission before going on privately owned property.

Ghost towns are great adventures and can be found all over the United States. There are many books and web sites that can help you find one. Remember, though, there are laws and rules associated with many ghost towns still in effect. But, if you plan the excursion well, it can be fun for everyone involved.

You can also search for relics near your own home around old home sites, parks, churches, and schools. Just keep in mind where people would most likely leave objects behind, like near an old gazebo, playgrounds or concert areas. Relic hunting begins with good research and good metal detector. If you enjoy history and unfolding the past, then you will love relic hunting. You'll be amazed at all the things to be found- cannon balls, bayonets, spurs, jewelry, coins, buttons, tools, eye glasses- some may even be worth thousands of dollars!
